HEADS UP!
If and when you consider buying a home in Horry County, you should check first with County Council staff to find out what's planned for your new neighborhood! Horry County may have a
potentially toxic hot mix asphalt plant
in mind for you!
One new resident to the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery Road community north of Conway (Councilman Al Allen's district) found out a week AFTER he and his wife moved in that the Horry County Council, over the objections of their own staff and Planning Commission, was approving one for his community—75 feet away from homeowners and children.
Believe it or not, Horry County elected officials will NOT put potentially toxic industries in industrial parks...but they WILL put one near YOU!
THINK ABOUT THAT when you vote for county council members again. EVERY ONE of the current council members (with the exception of newly elected Jody Prince) voted for this outrage. I say we want council members who can find ways to promote industry AND protect its citizens at the same time...what do you say?
