The Horry County League of Women Voters held a forum June 29 for a panel of elected officials and experts to answer residents' questions about the redistricting and reapportioning process that likely will occur after the 2010 Census for the 2012 elections.
The Office of Research at the S.C. State Budget and Control Board said it's likely the county population has grown enough to receive an additional legislative seat for the 2012 elections. Also it's likely that County Council districts will geographically shrink east of the Intercoastal Waterway and grow in the western portion of the county.
Horry County P.R.I.D.E. is proud to to support the League's activities. See picture below and look for our very own Pam Creech at the redistricting meeting barely visible in the back in a red jacket.
